Ocean Cruising

Cruise lines are ever so competing in today’s market. The new ships that come out have something bigger and better to offer than its competition. But, is that better?

Because of their larger size, ocean cruises offer plenty of options for many ages, from young kids to the older generation, and can accommodate a wide variety of special health needs. For this reason, they tend to make the best option for multi-generational family gatherings that include young children. For the traveler who loves adventure, ocean cruises provide a wide variety of activities on board, as well as exotic and more daring day excursions.

Here are some of my favorites:

Royal Caribbean’s- Symphony of the Seas

Abyss-Symphony.jpg

5518 passengers spring 2018. Features include a 10-story waterslide, the tallest on any cruise ship, called the Ultimate Abyss; a revamped boardwalk area with a new bar and candy and ice-cream shop; Royal’s first New England-style seafood restaurant, with Hooked Seafood located in the ship’s Solarium; and a brand new original show, “Flight,” a satire of the history of the air travel industry.

It will also feature “the world’s most adventurous and interactive family suite,” according to the line, which will include a kid’s-only bedroom on the second floor with a slide to the living room down below. The suite will also include a floor-to-ceiling LEGO wall, an air-hockey table, and a separate 3D-theater-style movie room with a popcorn maker.

There are also twenty-eight additional balcony rooms overlooking the Boardwalk area, a feature that separates Symphony from the other ships in Royal’s Oasis class — Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, and Harmony of the Seas.

Great cruise line with fun for all ages

Norwegian (NCL) Bliss

NCL-Bliss-Gokarts.jpg

Norwegian Bliss, will be the floating home of the first-ever racetrack at sea. The ship's crowning innovation will be the two-story racetrack on the top deck, where passengers can race each other in electric cars, à la Mario Kart. The 3,900-passenger ship is the brands first designed. Besides the thrill-seeking racetrack, the ship also offer guests the largest duty-free shopping venue in the Norwegian fleet. Additionally, Deck 16 will hold the Galaxy Pavilion, a tech-heavy space where cruise-goers can play hovercraft bumper cars and virtual reality games.

Great cruise line lots of fun for all ages

Celebrity Cruises Reflection

 Celebrity Reflection Travel Agent

Carrying 3,030 passengers, this ship is slightly larger. One of the newer suites they added to this ship is the Reflection Suite - There is only one of these suites on the Celebrity Reflection, and it's a great one. This two-bedroom suite is over 1,600 square feet and has a 194-square foot balcony. The suite comes equipped with a large dining area, contemporary living room, and a signature bathroom with a glass shower that extends over the edge of the ship.

Celebrity Reflection Bathroom, Arranged by Travel Professionals

There are at least a dozen lounges, including the Sky Observation bar, with its great views by day and disco by night, the outdoor Sunset Bar on the aft of the ship, and Michael's Bar with its large selection of international beers. The Martini Bar, which has an icy top, and the Passport Bar in the Atrium are very popular before and after dinner. Since I love to try different wines, Cellar Master is one of my favorite watering holes.

Great for adults, honeymooners, Romance Getaways, Anniversaries
